Among the following, the dissociation constant is highest for Phenol (C6H5OH). This result can be obtained from the fact that dissociation constant is higher for reactions in which more products are obtained, or the products are more stable.
4A liquid can only boil when it reaches a saturation energy level. After this, it cannot contain this energy, and so, it starts to change its phase so as to accommodate this extra energy. Now, its observed that this only occurs when the vapour pressure of the liquid becomes equal to the external pressure.
Hence, when we go into high altitudes, the atmospheric pressure there is low, hence, food begins to boil at a lower temperature only, as for boiling it only has to reach the pressure of the external atmosphere, which is already low. Hence, it doesn't cook properly.
